How it works
Here are some of the practical aspects to our home:
-
Your rent includes housing, meals and utilities (excluding phone),
the use of two coin-less laundry areas and DSL.
-
Housing includes a twin sized bed and closet space. Most rooms
require a dresser and student desks, bookcases and other
additions to individual rooms may be worked out with roommates.
Linens (sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, etc.) are not provided.
-
Kathryn Prehoda will prepare most weeknight family-style dinners
each week to share. Dinners are usually around 6 pm and are the
most regular get-together times for the house. She will also shop
for the materials for breakfast and lunch so that you can
prepare your own. Breakfasts materials might include the
availability of pancake/waffle mix, eggs, bread and yogurt as
well as the famous Prehoda refrigerated muffin mix for two
minute hot muffin prep on the way out the door. Lunch options
might include any left-overs from the night before,
sandwich/salad fixings or yogurt and fruit. She will want to
know your preferences as she enjoys including them as much as is
possible with the large group. We will work on the weekend
meals together. You will provide your own snacks and outside food.
-
We provide wireless Internet. You will need to have a wireless
antenna for your computer, an item often provided in current
computer set-ups.
-
There is a certain amount of parking on the street as well as
one spot in front of the house. Bicycles are locked to a bike
rack in the back yard.
